Modulr is selected for first cohort of the FCA’s Scale-up Unit for solo-regulated firms
London, UK | 10 August 2026: Modulr, the payments automation platform built to scale, today announces it has been selected for the first cohort of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Scale-up Unit for solo-regulated firms.
The Scale-up Unit gives established, fast-growing regulated firms a dedicated point of contact and practical support as they scale. It also gives members the opportunity to contribute to the UK’s financial ecosystem and inform future policies, with a focus on innovation and growing the UK economy.
Modulr brings 10 years of experience to the cohort as a regulated, scaling payments provider in the UK. The company now processes more than 200mn transactions and over £180bn in payment value on an annualised basis for more than 6,000 businesses, from fast-growing SMEs to global enterprises.
Participation in the Scale-up unit comes as Modulr continues to expand in the UK and globally with a recent US launch, after reaching profitability in 2025.
Myles Stephenson, Founder and CEO of Modulr, commented:
“The UK has established itself as a leading financial services hub, allowing fast-paced businesses like Modulr to scale. To continue innovating and investing in the future of the UK economy, strong collaboration between industry and the FCA is critical. I am excited for Modulr to work with the FCA and other solo-regulated firms through the Scale-up Unit over the coming months, and to help shape the UK’s already exciting financial services landscape.
