Modulr makes key leadership appointments to support European growth
Amsterdam, Netherlands | 16 July 2026: Modulr, the payments automation platform built to scale, today announces two senior appointments with a focus on growth in Europe. Modulr Group’s current Director of Strategy, Jakub Zmuda, will take up the position of Managing Director in Europe and Chair of Management Board of Modulr Finance B.V., Modulr’s European subsidiary.
Jakub Zmuda has more than 15 years’ experience in the payments industry and became a founding member of Modulr in 2016 as Chief Product Officer. Since then, he has focused on strategic growth, including new market entry and expansion. Mark Buitenhek brings more than 25 years of experience in payments. At ING, he held global leadership roles across payments and cash management as well as transaction services. He has served on the Boards of the European Payments Council, Mastercard Europe, Payconiq, and SWIFT. As independent Chair, he brings deep strategic and governance expertise to Modulr, supporting the company's next phase of growth in Europe.
Commenting on Modulr’s European growth, Myles Stephenson, Founder & CEO, Modulr said: “Following a strong financial period for Modulr, including reaching profitability last year and launching in the US earlier this year, our sights are set on further growth and building a platform that scales across Europe. These appointments strengthen our leadership and governance in Europe as we continue our growth in the region”.
